Day 3: Monique Lhuillier and Alexander Wang's collections were the best!!!

Monique Lhuillier showed her approach to cocktail dresses and evening wear. Strong colours (fuchsia, red, orange and coral) combined with pearl, white and champagne, floral prints, translucent fabrics, lace and collars. When it comes do silhouettes, the collections presented us with cropped tops, long ball skirts and formal dresses.

I loved Alexander Wang's collection. "It was a trip back to the '90s tomboy". Wang offered us a men collection in a woman body, "with classic suiting being used for everything from spaghetti-strapped slip dresses to the waistbands of leather shorts. Men's pajamas popped up in sexy shorts looks with plenty of stomach exposed. There were old-school hip-hop references sprinkled into the collection, and not just the soundtrack. Baby-doll dresses splashed with the designer's name mingled with leather overall dresses, while workwear made an appearance in black shorts suits with white stitching." A mix of fun and typography. The accessories (especially the bags) were in white, black, olive green, maroon and sweet pink.

Hervé Léger by MAX AZRIA showed us a strong powerful collection in black, white, blue and seashell pink. The silhouettes were the most amazing, with sexy body-con dresses, leather corsets and skirts with zippers "and lines of fringe that gave dresses some shimmy-and-shake movement." fashionologie

Altarruza showed "wearable, luxe, beautifully cut: these are clothes made for strong, young women to wear." fashionologie

Jill Stuart's collection was all about the 60's. "In a color palette that did not veer once from stark blacks and whites, lace and leather interplayed nicely, as did sheer paneling with, well, everything. There were baby-doll dresses with coy cutouts, chunky knits atop matching bikini bottoms..." fashionologie

Lascote presented us with pastels colours and transparency. Beautiful wrap dresses with transparent overcoats/parkas, lightwight jackets, polo shirts and tennis player skirts (A-line skirts). Pedro Oliveira Baptista "continues to flirt with the paradoxes of sportswear." fashionologie
